Trophies, Cups and Special Awards
The following trophies, cups and special awards are available to be won at Borrowby Show.
1. The Tunnicliffe Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the Best Lead Rein Pony in Class 1. Cup to be held for one year.
2. The K. Foster Memorial Trophy, donated by Mrs Greer will be awarded to the winner of Class 2. Cup to be held for one year.
3. The W.J. Dennis Memorial Cup will be awarded to Class 7. Cup to be held for one year.
4. The Monty Memorial Perpetual Trophy presented by the Killicks to the best local entry in Class 9 residing within 5 miles of Borrowby, held for one year.
5. The Roy Kirby Perpetual Trophy presented to the overall winner of Class 9, to be held for one year.
6. The Nitrovit Ltd Cup for the Champion Sheep in the Sheep Section, Classes 52 - 90. Cup to be held for one year.
7. The Kirby Family Cup will be presented to the Champion Texel Sheep. Cup to be held for one year. Classes 52 -57.
8. The Barstow Hall Trophy to be presented to the Champion Suffolk Sheep. Cup to be held for one year. Classes 58 - 63.
9. The David Hoult Trophy will be presented to the Champion Group of Three in the Sheep Classes. Cup to be held for one year.
10. The L. E. & I. Cowton Cup for the most points in the Sheep Section Classes
50 - 90. Cup to be held for one year.
11. The J.G.Wilkin Cup will be awarded to the person gaining the most points in Classes 50 - 90 who resides within 4 miles of Borrowby. Points awarded 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
12. The Tim Hogg Trophy for the winner of the Young Handler Class 50. Trophy to be held for one year.
13. The Jameson Feeds Challenge Cup for the winner of the Young Handler Class 51. Cup to be held for one year.
14. The Kenneth Wilson Challenge Cup for the highest points in Wheat, Oats and Barley Classes. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
15. The Jean Wikeley Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 113 - 130. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
16. The Mrs. H. Barnett Cup will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 116 - 130. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
17. HSBC Cup awarded to the individual gaining the most points in Classes 151 - 156. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 points, 2nd: 2 points, 3rd: 1 point. Cup to be held for one year.
18. The Mrs. W. J. Dennis Cup, re-presented by Mrs. D. Dennis, will be awarded to the best exhibit in Handicraft Section Classes 160 - 171. Cup to be held for one year.
19. The Coverdale Perpetual Cup for the best exhibit in Classes 172 - 173. Cup to be held for one year.
20. The T.I.R. Ltd Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the best exhibit in Classes 174 - 180. Cup to be held for one year.
21. The Mrs. Heather Corner Cup for the most points in the Flower Arrangement Section, Classes 181 - 185. Cup to be held for one year.
22. The Mrs. Edith Hogg Memorial Trophy for the best exhibit in the Flower Section, excluding flower arrangements. Trophy to be held for one year.
23. The Frank Hardie Memorial Cup 1981, to be held for one year, will be presented to the person residing in Borrowby who gains the most points in Classes 198, 199, 200, 201 and 207. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
24. The Owen Grainger Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the person gaining most points in Classes 187, 188, 189, 190, 191, 197, 203, 209, 214 and 216. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
25. The Flower Perpetual Cup, to be held for one year, will be presented to the person gaining the most points in the Classes 186 - 218. Points to be awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
26. The H. J. Wishart Cup will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 223 - 244. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. Cup to be held for one year.
27. The J. G. Titmuss Cup for Class 223, Best Tray of 6 distinct vegetables. Cup to be held for one year.
28. The Lowrie Trophy, to be held for one year, for the Best Exhibit in the Children’s Section. Age to be taken into consideration.
29. The Carol Russell Cup for the Best Exhibit in Class 265. Cup to be held for one year.
30. The Claire Cook Memorial Trophy for the Best Overall Exhibit in Classes 266 – 272, to be held for one year.
31. The Hambleton Hounds Trophy for Overall Champion of Champions in Classes D1 – D6. Cup to be held for one year.
