Trophies, Cups and Special Awards
The following trophies, cups and special awards are available to be won at Borrowby Show.
- Bassitt & Armstrong Perpetual Trophy for the Champion coloured Horse/Pony.
- A Perpetual Cup, the W. J. Dennis Memorial Cup, will be awarded to the Best Hunter.
- A Perpetual Cup, The Ken Hablutzel Memorial Cup, will be awarded to the Best Lead Rein Pony.
- A Perpetual Cup, kindly donated by Mrs. Greer, will be awarded to the winner of Class 18, Best Turned Out residing within 5 miles.
- The Broadwith Memorial Trophy for the Best In Hand Pony, Classes 8 – 10.
- The Mowbray Stud Championship Perpetual Trophy awarded to the best pony in the ridden Mountain and Moorland section - Classes 12 - 14.
- The Tunnicliffe Perpetual Trophy, will be awarded to the Best Lead Rein Mountain and Moorland Pony in Class 11.
- The Treske Goldsmith Cup will be awarded to the Best Pony in Classes 15 – 17.
- The Mervyn Beattie Perpetual Trophy for the winner of the Rehabilitated Racehorse Class.
- R. Kirby Perpetual Cup for overall Best Mounted Fancy Dress Class 24.
- A Perpetual Trophy presented by The Killicks (Woundales) for the Best Local (residing within 5 miles of show field) Exhibit in Class 24.
- The Barker Crosby Memorial Cup for the Best Home Bred Dairy Animal. Cup to be held for one year.
- The Harry Almond Memorial Cup for the Champion Dairy Animal. Cup to be held for one year.
- A Perpetual Cup given by Ben Carter for Best Commercial Beef Animal. Cup to be held for one year.
- A Perpetual Cup to be held for one year will be presented to the exhibitor gaining the most points in the Beef Cattle Sections. Points to be awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt. This Cup has been re-presented by S. Fairburn Esq.
- A Perpetual Cup given by Nitrovit Ltd., for The Champion Sheep in the Sheep Classes.
- A Cup, kindly donated by David Hoult to be held for one year will be presented to the Champion Group of Three in the Sheep Classes.
- Perpetual Trophy given by L. E. & I. Cowton for the most points in the Sheep Section.
- A Perpetual Cup given by J. Wilkin, Esq., will be awarded by the person gaining the most points in Classes 62 - 99 who resides within 4 miles of Borrowby. Points awarded 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- The Jameson Trophy for the winner of the Young Handler Class 63, cup to be held for one year.
- The Tim Hogg Trophy for the winner of the Young Handler Class 62, cup to be held for one year.
- The Kenneth Wilson Perpetual Cup, for the highest points in Wheat, Oats and Barley Classes. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- The Jean Wikeley Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 113 - 130. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- A Perpetual Cup given by the late Mrs. H. Barnett will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 116 - 130 inclusive. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- HSBC Trophy awarded to the individual gaining the most points in Classes 151 - 156. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 points, 2nd: 2 points, 3rd: 1 point.
- The Mrs. W. J. Dennis Perpetual Cup re-presented by Mrs. D. Dennis to be held for one year will be awarded to the best exhibit in Handicraft Section (Classes 160 - 171).
- The Coverdale Perpetual Cup for the best entry exhibit in Classes 172 - 173.
- A Perpetual Cup given by T.I.R. (E. Hackett) will be awarded to the best entry in classes 174 - 179.
- A Perpetual Cup given by Mrs. H. Corner for the most points in the Flower Arrangement Section.
- A Perpetual Cup given in memory of Mrs. E. Hogg for the Best Exhibit in the Flower Section excluding flower arrangements.
- Frank Hardie Memorial Cup to be held for one year will be presented to the person residing in Borrowby who gains the most points in Classes 198, 199, 200, 201 and 207. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- A Perpetual Cup given by O. Grainger will be awarded to the person gaining most points in Classes 187, 188, 189, 190, 191, 197, 203, 209, 214 and 216. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- A Perpetual Cup to be held for one year will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 186 - 218. Points to be awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- A Perpetual Cup given by H. J. Wishart, Esq., of Carlton Miniott will be presented to the person gaining the most points in Classes 223 - 244. Points awarded as follows: 1st: 3 pts. 2nd: 2 pts. 3rd: 1 pt.
- A Perpetual Cup given by J. G. Titmus for Class 223, Best Tray of 6 distinct vegetables.
- A Silver Cup to be held for one year will be presented to the child showing the best exhibit. Age to be taken into consideration.
- The Perpetual Cup for Art (12-16 year olds) for the best exhibit in Class 265, presented by Mrs Carol Russell.
- The Claire Cook Memorial Cup for the Best Overall Exhibit in Classes 266 - 272 to be held for one year.
- Calyptus Trophy presented to the Show by Mr & Mrs R. Lumley for the winner of the Junior Open Jumping Cup to be held for one year.
- Ruth Peacock Memorial Trophy for the winner of British Showjumping Senior Foxhunter, cup to be held for one year.
- Reg Dennis Memorial Trophy for the winner of British Showjumping Senior Discovery, cup to be held for one year.
- W Robinson Memorial Trophy for most points in the Lead Rein Gymkhana, cup to be held for one year.
- A19 Boarding Kennels Trophy for the Overall Champion Dog in classes FD1 to FD3, cup to be held for one year.
